“The Marines Made a proud man out of me. They also made a proud navajo out of me”
CArl N. Gorman’s biography book
To learn more about Carl N. Gorman, we recommend reading Power of a Navajo: Carl Gorman, The Man and His Life by Henry and Georgia Greenberg. Written in 1996 with the oversight of Carl and Mary Gorman, you can read about Carl’s life from his childhood in boarding school to his days as a Navajo Code Talker. You’ll learn about his journey home from the war to Otis Art Institute where he studied studio art. This book is out of print but can be found on Amazon and Ebay (sometimes you can find one signed). It is difficult to borrow at local libraries since it’s usually considered a special reading and can’t be checked out.
